Community Level 1 - Aquainted
Materials: None
How To Play: The leader chooses a current topic of study. A player begins by saying, "I am going (name an activity relevant to the topic) and I will be looking for (name specific examples relevant to the activity/topic)".
The next player names her example and the previous players' examples.
Play continues until all players have had a chance to speak.
EXAMPLE TOPIC: Sedimentary rocks
Player 1: I am going sedimentary rock collecting and I will be looking for a limestone rock.
Player 2: I am going sedimentary rock collecting and I will be looking for a sandstone rock and a limestone rock.
EXAMPLE TOPIC: Egypt
Player 1: I am going to visit early Egypt and I will be looking for a sphinx.
Player 2: I am going to visit early Egypt and I will be looking for a scarab beetle and a sphinx.
Plan for Success:
Clearly name the topic of study and the activity relevant to the topic
to be used in the game. To help with recall, students could take a
moment to write down possible examples for the selected activity.
